How does the Free Ball work?
Six winning numbers are randomly selected from a set of numbers 1 to 42. Additionally, a seventh "Free Ball" number is selected from the remaining balls after the first six are selected. Players can use the free ball to increase lower-tier prizes.
Why is there no Free Ball on my ticket?
Players select any 6 numbers from 1 to 42 for each desired Win for Life play (or select Quick Pick/Easy Pick). The Lottery draws 6 Winning Numbers, followed by 1 "Free Ball" number from the same set of 42 balls. There is no free ball indicated on your ticket. If you match the 6 Winning Numbers, you win $1,000 a week for life!

Matching the "Free Ball" number with any of your numbers may increase prize amounts. For example, matching 5 of 6 winning numbers wins $600, however matching 5 of 6 winning numbers plus the Free Ball wins $1,000 a week for a year ($52,000)! There are eight different ways to win in Win for Life; please reference the prize chart below for complete Win for Life prize information.

Is there a limit to the number of years I can "win for life"?
No. The Lottery will continue to pay the top prize of $1,000 a week for life to a Win for Life top prize winner for his/her entire natural life, without limit.
Since the top prize is an annuity, what happens when I die?
The top prize of $1,000 a week for life is guaranteed for a minimum of 10 years. Therefore, if a winner passes away within 10 years of winning, the remaining annuity payments would be transferable to a beneficiary.
Can more than one person win the top prize of $1,000 a week for life in the same drawing?
Yes, in a drawing, more than one ticket may match the first six numbers and win a lifetime prize. Subject to the published rules of WIN FOR LIFE and the Georgia Lottery Corporation, Kentucky Lottery Corporation and Virginia Lottery, an unusually large number of winning tickets with the same matching top prize or second prize winning numbers in any drawing may result in that prize amount becoming pari-mutuel.
